a 26 hour New Year marathon!

I've set my first goal of the new year - to make 300 new FaceBook friends by January 1st, less than 26 hours from now. I have enjoyed meeting so many new friends and re-connecting with familiar friends, since I've been on FB these last few months. I am a social person by nature and I enjoy helping others where I can. So the more friends the better!

Now as a Successful Living Coach I know the importance of having a good support system when working on a new goal or making small changes in life. So that is where, I hope, you come in.

In order for me to meet these 300 new fabulous friends, I need your help. What I would like to ask you is, if you could think of at least 4 of your friends that you could suggest to me that would have some interest or commonality with me.

You can read more about me in my FB profile or on my website. See the the tabs above. Or I could give you a quick synopsis. I like some of those fun apps on FB; I am a woman in the middle stage of life; I am a mom, a grandma (Jamma); I consider myself a spiritual business woman; one of my life's passions is to help other women along their journey; I have been around the block a few times and have experienced the same thing most average women have; I love to laugh and have fun; be creative by beading and painting and of course, coloring with the grand kids. And the list goes on.

I get along with so many different types of personalities and can relate on so many levels. So if you can think of at least 4 women you know that might have a commonality with me would you please suggest them to me through FB so I can achieve my first goal of the new year?

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to getting to know you and your friends more these coming months!

Stress and the holidays

This is a feed that was shared on Face Book starting Thursday 12-11-09. I hope that you find value in what other women have shared and the insights I shared with them. I would like to encourage you to share your stress experience here so others women may gain wisdom that may help them. Check back here often and see what insight I share on your post and go visit me on FB - Valena Hunley and see what else is going on!

VH - Stess and holidays they say go hand in hand. I find that stress looks different from one person to the next at this time of year. My stressors are time limits to get stuff done. I think it helps others to know they are not alone in how they feel when stressed, so why not share some of yours!

Carol Carskadon - Yes, Mine is I will be hosting the xmas eve party at my house for 30+ family members!! But it will all be worth it

VH - Thanks for sharing Carol. Your stressor shows how some stress is good for us and that their can be benefits from having it. Ride the wave of it's energy and you'll have a awesome party!

VH - "Come on everyone, encourage others to share their stressors. Thanks Carol for your insight!"

Catherine Llewellyn - self employemnt stress work my arse off til 23rd to enjoy five days off then back at it again the 28th no paid vacations here also missing my fam in California especially mom

VH - Thanks for sharing Cathy. That type of stress is what you might consider chronic stress. It's on going and necessary for daily survival. But watch out...if you don't have good enough releases it can cause havoc on all your systems!

VH - thanks to Cathy for her insight. As a Coach I see lots of different stressors that effect the lifestyle of women. I myself have an abundant amount. See the comments in the thread below (on Face Book Thursday 12-11-09)to see what other women are experienceing and some potential eye-openers about them. Share your insight and I will share back!

Nicole Valencia - My stress comes from knowing I am the sole provider for my children, it is up to me to meet all of there needs emotionally, socially, physically, financially (well I did say all) and to be there to catch them when/if I am unable to meet there needs as well. I guess just knowing that I am it and there is no other. Their survival is dependent on me.

(Face Book Friday 12-11-09)
VH - As we were all sharing yesterday (on FB)about our stress and where it comes from, I'd like to thank Nicole for sharing her awareness of stress.

VH - Nicole, you share a common stress amongst other single parents. My insight for you, and others, is to your focus on building strong support systems. When under extreme stress, such as a single parent, emotional, spiritual, mental and of course physical support is a must so that the stress doesn't alter "who you are" into "how you are".

VH - help others through this stressful time of year by sharing your awareness and insights around your stress. What are some of your solutions to coping and/or releasing stress? Share it here!
